I simply cannot get the Lotus Notes client to start!!

Subject: I simply cannot get the Lotus Notes client to start!!

I have tried installing the Lotus Notes 8.5 client (All Clients - Client,Admin,Designer) several times now, and I'm getting absolutely nowhere.

Each time I do, the installation proceeds without an issue. Upon trying to start the client after installation, however, it never gets past the splash screen. The NSD box is displayed, and it crashes. As intimated in many other posts here, nsd and nlnotes remain visible in the task manager thereafter.

I have tried everything I have read in many of the topics others have posted here, all to no avail.

Between each install, I do the following...

- Uninstall the client using the uninstaller
- Delete all folders related to the installation (not cleaned up by the uninstaller)
- Remove all associated registry keys
- Remove the temporary install files extracted prior to the installation process
- Rebooted the computer

I have even installed R8.0.2, had that working quite happily, and then installed 8.5 over top of that. Same thing - Crash almost immediately after displaying the splash screen.

- I have tried removing the "workspace" folder - no improvement
- I have tried running in "Basic" mode - no go
- I have tried using nsd -kill to remove any associated tasks from memory and have another go - didn't work

I have included (what I think are) the relevant portions of the NSD log file below in hopes that someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
